The Order of Christian Initiation of Children (OCIC) is a formation program designed for children who have reached the age of reason (usually around 7 years or older) and wish to become members of the Catholic Church but have not yet received the Sacraments of Initiation. Through this process, children learn about the teachings of the Church, the message of the Bible, and the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
The OCIC program includes catechism classes, prayer, participation in church activities, and guidance from catechists and parents. It helps children grow in faith, understand Christian values, and prepare to receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. OCIC supports children in building a strong spiritual foundation and becoming active members of the Church community.
